Approval for Gwadar–Oman Ferry Service, MoU Expected Soon

Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry has announced that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Pakistan and Oman for launching a ferry link will be signed soon. The federal cabinet has already approved the initiation of a ferry service from Gwadar to Oman.
The minister said that a high-level Omani delegation will visit Pakistan soon to finalize the operational steps for the ferry service. According to him, the new maritime link will significantly boost trade, investment, and travel between the two countries. Travel for Pakistani expatriates will also become more convenient.
He added that the ferry route will strengthen tourism and cultural ties while providing the region easier access to Central Asian markets. Junaid Anwar Chaudhry said that new maritime corridors are transforming Gwadar into a rising hub of economic activity.
